Asset management company expands to Mount Pleasant

A financial services investment company based in New York has opened an office in the Lowcountry, the company said in a news release.

Gamco Investors Inc., a publicly traded company, opened an asset management division office in July and named Christina M. Bronec as senior vice president for the expansion.

Gamco Asset Management Inc. is located at 75 Port City Landing, Suite 200, in Mount Pleasant. The company’s corporate headquarters is located in Rye, N.Y., with offices worldwide. 

Bronec has more than 10 years’ experience in wealth management at Gamco, the company said, previously working with private wealth and institutional clients that represent more than $3 billion in assets.

Bronec is from Chapel Hill, N.C., and holds a degree from Duke University, the company said.

Company Chairman Mario J. Gabelli said Bronec had “longstanding relationships with our clients, and a passion for the stock market and the Charleston community.”

“This is a strategic expansion to meet the increased market demands of our clients and friends,” he said in a statement.
