Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union names new president

Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union's board of directors has named Jason S. Lee as the financial institution's new president and chief operating officer.

Lee replaces CEO Jim McDaniel, who worked for Heritage Trust for 22 years, the company said.

Lee previously served as executive vice president at Orion Federal Credit Union, an $810 million financial institution in Memphis, Tenn., the credit union said in a news release.

The credit union said Lee's experience includes retail, lending, accounting/finance, electronic services, legal counsel and strategic planning, among other areas. Lee holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Texas Tech University and an executive MBA from the University of Memphis.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jason to the distinguished role of president and chief operating officer at Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union," Heritage Trust Chairman Troy Draughn said in a statement. "Jason boasts an impressive resume and extensive experience across all areas of credit union finance and operations."

Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union is a $647 million institution serving about 50,000 members in Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester and Colleton counties. The credit union began in 1955.
