A newly opened downtown restaurant gives Charleston foodies another upscale option.

Marbled & Fin is the latest addition from the Neighborhood Dining Group hospitality company, calling the restaurant an “ambitious approach to the traditional steakhouse,” according to a news release.

Marbled & Fin, which officially opened on June 12, is located at 480 E. Bay St., a few blocks from King Street.

The Neighborhood Dining Group is best known for restaurants such as Husk, Delaney Oyster House, Minero and The James.

The upscale Marbled & Fin menu offers various seafood items such as caviar, lobster, oysters, varieties of fish and crab. The steakhouse’s “signature offering” is a “surf-and-turf for two comprised of a 28-ounce dry aged prime porterhouse steak, whole lobster, Robuchon potato purée, and jumbo asparagus,” according to the release.

The new restaurant also carries a wine selection of over 250 labels as well as a bar selection offering multiple signature cocktails, according to the release.

Cocktails at the restaurant are designed by “NDG’s Project Developer Kevin King, who seeks inspiration from classic cocktails and cultural nods, bringing elements of exuberance and fun while also utilizing forward-thinking technique and bold presentation,” the release stated.

Marbled & Fin was designed by MB Within Interior Design company, creating a blend of modern and contemporary, according to the release. The room includes “custom furniture, large brass light fixtures, and liberal amounts of greenery, including a wall of Birds of Paradise planted within the wood floor,” the release stated.

The restaurant will be able to seat 150 people along with 26 bar seats.

“We’ve been operating restaurants in downtown Charleston since NDG was born over two decades ago, and we’re excited to be bringing something entirely new to the place and people that have supported us all these years,” David Howard, president of The Neighborhood Dining Group, said in the release. “Marbled & Fin has pushed us to think beyond what a traditional steakhouse can be, and our team is ready to showcase the passion (and fun!) we’ve poured into this concept.”
