Charleston, SC–The MassMutual Foundation has announced a $15,000 matching gift that will support Charleston Area youth development programs administered by First Tee – Greater Charleston. The donation comes in response to personal contributions made to First Tee by Ry Hudnall, President and General Agent for MassMutual South Carolina.

Hudnall is an avid supporter of First Tee programs, which teach interpersonal skills and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. He serves on the organization’s Advisory Board and has fostered a long-term corporate partnership through MassMutual South Carolina.

“Ry’s personal contributions and legacy partnership through MassMutual South Carolina have helped thousands of young people access the game of golf and build a toolbox for life,” says Bucky Dudley, Executive Director of First Tee – Greater Charleston. “Partnerships like his and the MassMutual Foundation match help us keep programs free for for most families. We are truly grateful for their support!”

MassMutual SC supports after-school transportation and program scholarships through Legacy Partnership.

First Tee – Greater Charleston serves more than 18,000 Tricounty children each year through in-school, after-school, and community outreach programs that promote confidence, perseverance, and personal responsibility. 97% of children who participate in First Tee programs do so at no cost.

The MassMutual Matching Gift Program is designed to recognize and demonstrate appreciation for the work carried out by nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. Matches are intended to encourage impact on a community level by inspiring charitable contributions to educational, health care, environmental, arts, cultural, civic, and social service organizations.

MassMutual’s matching gift to First Tee – Greater Charleston will support program improvements including equipment and transportation for after-school groups in underserved communities.
