Johns Island, S.C. – Kiawah River, a waterfront community near Charleston, S.C. and the region’s first agrihood, is pleased to announce that the community experienced record-breaking sales in 2023.

In 2023, Kiawah River sold a total of 41 new residences, 33 homesites and 22 resales, many of which were residents re-purchasing within the community, with an average new home sale price of approximately $1.6 million.

“Kiawah River offers a distinctive environment where the sea islands’ natural beauty meets resort-style amenities, attracting a diverse range of homebuyers from across the U.S.,” said Kiawah River’s Director of Sales Chris Drury. “We continue to attract residents who embrace the Lowcountry sea island lifestyle and outdoor living, including our working farm, and we are excited to usher in a new year with a number of planned community additions to help Kiawah River continue to flourish as a premier residential destination.”

With demand for new construction in a waterfront community increasing each year, Kiawah River is attracting buyers from the Charleston region and beyond, including North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio, Wisconsin and Colorado.

Since 2019, Kiawah River has been awarded eight design and planning awards in various home and community categories by highly acclaimed, national organizations. Additionally, complementing Kiawah River’s home and homesite sales, The Dunlin Auberge Resorts Collection, a charming, family-friendly getaway that emphasizes the simple pleasures of an authentic sea island lifestyle, is opening this summer, featuring 72 guestrooms, a 130-seat restaurant and a spa with five private treatment rooms.

Kiawah River offers a diverse variety of homes starting at $1,500,000 and homesites starting in the mid-$200,000s. The community has been carefully planned to embrace outdoor living, with only half of the property’s 2,000 acres planned for development, and the remaining 1,000 acres to remain open/green space. In addition to its array of resort-style amenities and services, residents have access to several launch points for fishing and boating to explore the pristine Kiawah River and inland waterways.
