 src=The Edisto Island Open Land Trust will host its ninth annual summer auction fundraiser, Party on Your Porch Online Auction, as a three-day virtual event this year. Funds will go toward land conservation efforts on and around Edisto and education outreach programs for children and adults.

The auction will include online bidding for more than 150 items, including handmade local art, vacation homes on Edisto Island, dinner and cocktail parties, getaways to the Bahamas, and hunting and fishing excursions.

Prizes will be awarded each night for costume contests and for photos posted of participants’ porch parties, in the categories of best-dressed, farthest from Edisto and most creative.

Official bidding will begin at 5 p.m. June 18 and end at 8 p.m. June 20. A preview of auction items can be found online.

Care For Life has partnered with Holy City Arts and Lyric Opera, Fox Music and Service Master to sponsor a four-part concert series throughout June at various senior care locations across the Lowcountry.

The concept of the series was developed by Mary Peters, owner of Care for Life. Charles Fox, owner of Fox Music, is providing the piano and pianist for the traveling concerts. Lawton Hayes, owner of Service Master, is supplying ice cream to residents and staff members at the events.

 src=A portion of the proceeds from Palmetto Breeze’s Tribute Tuesday Sunset Sails will go toward Pay It Forward Charleston, supporting local food and beverage workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each sail will take place Tuesday evenings at various times through September. Passengers will board at 100 Church St. in Mount Pleasant, behind Red’s Ice House, for a two-hour ride along Charleston Harbor. Complimentary bottled water and soft drinks are included, and beer and wine are available for purchase.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and cost $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. Each sail will take a maximum of 50 passengers.

First Reliance Bank collected more than 3,449 pounds of nonperishable food items across all branch locations for its You Can Make a Difference food bank drive.

Items will be donated to food banks across the state, including the Lowcountry Food Bank.
