Dorchester Habitat for Humanity to host 2024 Lowcountry Blast & Boil

SUMMERVILLE, S.C.- Dorchester Habitat for Humanity announced its 2024 Lowcountry Blast and Boil scheduled for Friday, April 12. The primary mission of the event is to generate funds to help build safe and affordable homes in Dorchester County.

The clay shooting competition will be held at Partridge Creek Gun Club at 1487 US-78 in Ridgeville. Participants can anticipate a day filled with friendly competition, camaraderie and a whole lot of fun, all in support of Dorchester Habitat’s mission.

The tournament begins at 8 a.m. with registration. Welcome swag bags, lunch, top shooter prizes, and special custom auction items will be part of the event and so much more!

From 6-10 p.m., the celebration continues with the Lowcountry Boil at Ashley River Park Pavilion. Attendees will enjoy live music from The Vistas, dancing, raffles, as well as live and silent auctions.

“This annual event is an opportunity for our community to come together in support of Dorchester Habitat’s mission that truly changes lives,” said Jaye Jones Elliott, President & CEO of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity. “Through the funds raised, we aim to continue providing quality, safe and affordable homes here in Dorchester County. Dorchester Habitat was founded in 1993 and has since completed 76 homes in Dorchester County. It takes roughly 2,000 volunteer hours and nearly $166,000 to complete each home. Dorchester Habitat keeps construction costs at a minimum by utilizing mostly volunteer labor and by using all proceeds from its ReStore to purchase materials and land.
