The YMCA of Greenville is hosting their Safety Around Water Day on May 22, 2022. The program is built on a foundation of overall safety and risk prevention that reflects the Ys commitment to the well-being of all. Trained and certified instructors will be teaching participants – from ages 2 to 12 years old – basic comfort and survival swimming skills while working toward building confidence around water.
Participants will be taught how to react and respond if there is a water emergency. They will also learn about danger areas and topics such as backyard pools, waterfronts, recreational or community pools, and boats and watercraft safety.
Parent/child sessions for infants 6-24 months old and lessons for children with diverse abilities will also be offered.
Water Safety Day is free, but registration is required as spots are limited.
The single-day program will be held at Knollwood Heights Community Pool, at 127 Gail Dr, in Mauldin.
