Blackbaud has been named to Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies of 2022 list, which ranks the top software and telecommunications businesses in the country.

The Daniel Island-headquartered company was one of 500 on the list that highlights businesses that are leaders in corporate social responsibility and environmental, social and corporate governance polices.

Rachel Hutchisson, Blackbaud vice president, global social responsibility said the company was pleased to be included on the list.

“Commitment to social good has been in Blackbaud’s DNA since our company was founded 40 years ago,” Hutchisson said in a statement. “Our vision is to power an ecosystem of good that builds a better world. Along with our customers, employees and communities, we work toward that goal every day, and it’s an honor to receive this award.”

Newsweek partnered with Statista to narrow down the top 2,000 U.S.-based public companies by revenue on key corporate responsibility indicators including: environmental engagement, leadership diversity, philanthropy and engagement, disclosure and transparency, economic performance and more.

Statista then performed a further survey asking more than 11,000 people for their perception of the companies’ CSR practices.

In addition to the Newsweek honor, this year Blackbaud also was recognized as a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Citizens Award winner, and was named a Diversity Champion by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
