A Charleston-based lifestyle brand is setting its sights on The Music City.

Sewing Down South, the sewing lifestyle brand founded by “Southern Charm” and Bravo TV star Craig Conover, has leased space in downtown Nashville for a new brick-and-mortar retail location selling its apparel and pillows, according to a news release.

Brokerage firm Lee & Associates represented Sewing Down South in securing the new Nashville lease, according to the release. Justin Ross, James Bakker, and Guillermo Granier from the Lee & Associates Charleston office, and Miller Chandler and Lee Ann James from the Lee & Associates Nashville office, brought the deal across the finish line.

“We were thrilled to work with Sewing Down South again as they grow their brand into new markets,” said Ross, vice president at Lee & Associates, in the release. “Their expansion into Nashville is a testament to the success they’ve built through Craig’s vision and dedicated following.”

The new store will be located at the center of Nashville’s bustling 12South neighborhood.

“12South is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Nashville, and has emerged as one of the hottest destinations in the city for shopping and dining,” said Ross in the release. “The half mile stretch on 12 Avenue South is full of restaurants and bars, coffee houses, bakeries, and boutiques featuring local designers and makers. Sewing Down South will be a great compliment to the dynamic retail scene at 12South.”

Ross and Lee & Associates previously assisted Conover in opening Sewing Down South’s first physical store location in Charleston at 494 King St., along with a warehouse fulfillment deal in North Charleston, the release stated. When opening the original Charleston retail location, there were hesitations about launching a new brick-and-mortar business in the middle of the pandemic. However, Lee & Associates was able to pinpoint and secure an excellent location that receives heavy foot traffic on King Street, and also accommodates frequent social media events, the release stated.

“Navigating the retail landscape amid the pandemic recovery has been challenging, but Craig and his team have built an incredibly popular brand,” added Ross. “We’re confident their Nashville fans will embrace this new location.”

The Nashville storefront will feature the full line of Sewing Down South’s sewing-inspired apparel and home goods. More details on the grand opening will be announced soon.

Sewing Down South is a sewing lifestyle brand and store founded in 2018 by Conover, a star of the Bravo reality show “Southern Charm.” Conover’s passion for sewing pillows began after a breakup, and he started the business from his home sewing room with an assistant, according to the release. The brand’s products are inspired by Conover’s life in Charleston and trips to the Bahamas, and include pillows, hats, totes, accessories, harnesses, collars, and leashes.
