Brewer named president of Choate Construction

Atlanta-based Choate Construction Co. has named Matt Brewer, formerly the division manager of Choate Charleston, as president of the company.

Brewer has been with Choate since 2004 and has over 20 years of experience in construction, personnel leadership and business strategy. He assumes the role of president from Dave Priester, who will remain CEO.

Brewer will continue to be based in Mount Pleasant.

“I’ve been honored to lead our Charleston team and now look forward to working closely with Dave and our executive leadership team as we chart the course for Choate’s future,” Brewer said in a news release.

Priester said in the release that he looks forward to working with Brewer to advance Choate’s mission.

“Matt is uniquely qualified to lead Choate into the future and I’m very excited about the unique experience and perspective that he brings to Choate’s executive team,” he said.

Taking over for Brewer as Charleston division manager is Tim Heichelbech, who will be responsible for the overall business strategy for Choate’s Charleston office. Tim McIntosh has also been promoted to director of operations in Charleston, where he will oversee all project-related operations for the office.
