Berkeley County Property Celebrated Grand Opening

MONCKS CORNER, SC – Jet Park Warehousing, the warehouse entity under the Barnhart Transportation umbrella, will commemorate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting celebration. The three-year property revitalization project is now open for business serving as Barnhart’s southern logistics hub.

The Moncks Corner property was home to the old VIVA Tire Recycling plant that was abandoned with millions of used tires creating a public nuisance for residents. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control funded the 3.3-million-dollar clean-up to properly dispose of the tires.

Jet Park Warehousing purchased the property at public auction in early 2020 as a home for their expansion into the southern market. The dilapidated property went through a complete revitalization and is now home to the companies entities servicing the Charleston market, Barnhart Transportation, Jet Park Warehousing, and Lake Shore Global Solutions. The new facility allowed the company to create over 75 employment opportunities for the tri-county area.

Brothers, Bryan and Tim Barnhart, made the investment to open the new terminal to increase their ability to better serve customers in the company’s southern footprint. The site was chosen because of the strategic location near South Carolina Ports, which will allow the company to take full advantage of the many benefits that these ports offer, including access to major shipping lanes, and a deep water port that can accommodate the largest ships in the world. This will enable us to provide our customers with faster, more reliable service, and to take full advantage of the many opportunities that this region offers.
