A Charlotte-based law firm recently launched a sports law practice within its Charleston office that will cater largely to NFL clients, according to a news release.
Moore & Van Allen PLLC formed MVA Sports to assist athletes with pre-draft preparation, contract negotiation, marketing and endorsements, media relations, nonprofit foundations, social media management, immigration matters, tax and estate planning and post-career planning, the release said.
Don Bancroft Meyer, Sam Applegate III and Trey Robinson will lead MVA Sports from the Moore & Van Allen office at 78 Wentworth St. in downtown Charleston, according to the release.
“Our team understands the needs and responsibilities of elite athletes,” Robinson said in the release. “We strive to empower our clients by providing zealous representation and resources to benefit them both during and after their athletic careers. We design an individualized game plan for every client, partnering with each to support their goals and position them for success in future pursuits.”
Robinson originally founded RES Agency, but brought the agency to Moore & Van Allen earlier this year, where it was renamed and expanded to become MVA Sports, the release said.
