Heather and Josh Keeler of Two Boroughs Larder and Joe and MariElena Raya of Bittermilk will celebrate the restaurant’s third anniversary and the launch of Bittermilk’s newest line, No. 5 Charred Grapefruit Tonic, on Aug. 3. The event is 1-8 p.m. at Deux Puces Farm, 7951 Doar Road in Awendaw.
The event will include Bittermilk No. 5 cocktails with Cathead Vodka and a raw bar on the dock. Chef Josh Keeler will begin cooking the main feast on the outdoor grill at 5 p.m. Two separate tickets are available for the event — one for the afternoon portion and one for the main feast. Tickets can be purchased online.
Aaron Siegel, Taylor Garrigan and Madison Ruckel of Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ have been invited to participate in the 2014 Meatopia U.K. Food Festival on Sept. 6-7. The London-based food festival started by food writer and journalist Josh Ozersky celebrates meat-centric dishes and sustainable farming.
The team from Home Team BBQ is one of a few U.S. teams selected to participate along with 20 pitmasters from all over the world, including the United Kingdom, Singapore and Brazil. This is the first time Home Team BBQ has been invited to an international barbecue festival.
The second annual Charleston Beer Week will be Sept. 7-13 at venues throughout the Charleston area. This year’s event will celebrate the area’s craft beer scene. The event coincides with Charleston Restaurant Week and the newly formed Charleston Watersports Week.
More than 35 events are in the works, including a double-feature premiere of two craft beer-related films, a night of rare European beers and the first rally of the American Homebrewers Association in South Carolina.
Fish Restaurant is celebrating its 14th year on Upper King Street with the return of its $10 Moo Shu lunch on Aug. 7. Fish will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during this one-day event. The menu will include Asian-inspired wraps paired with side items like tomato-cucumber salad, paprika chips and edamame and lentils.
