Fifty community and business leaders graduated from Charleston Chamber of Commerce’s 10-month Leadership Charleston program on June 21.
The program begins with a two-day retreat, followed by one-day sessions each month from October through June. It features speakers along with visits to various community assets, including schools, hospitals, the Port of Charleston, military facilities and the Statehouse.
In addition to examining leadership roles in political, social and economic affairs, participants have the option to communicate with local elected officials and community leaders.
The chamber has graduated nearly 1,900 people from the Leadership Charleston program since its inception in 1974.
