What is the best career advice you’ve ever been given? I was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps and Col. Donald C. Morse chose me to command a tank platoon on our second tour to Iraq. In my send-off, he said, “Don’t screw it up.” By that, he meant for me to achieve the mission we were called for and to take care of the young Marines in my charge. His words have been a motivator for me to focus not on myself, but on our mission and our loved ones.

Person you would like to meet: Gen. David Petraeus.
