The episode featuring Parish’s case, called Economan: Superthief, airs at 9 p.m. Wednesday and again at 11 p.m. Feb. 22. The episode includes a separate case on insider trading.

Parish, a former Charleston Southern University economics professor, pleaded guilty to three counts of investment fraud. About 600 people lost nearly $70 million through his Ponzi scheme.

Parish was sentenced in June to 24 years in prison.

CNBC’s American Greed Web site has a slide show about the case and a short video showing some of the items Parish bought with investors’ money, including silver, artwork and jewelry.
